I am often asked, how did I choose Physical Therapy as a profession? My journey started when I was 20 years old working in a local gym in Tennessee. I was asked by a member of the gym, “What are you going to do with your life?” At that time, all I knew was bodybuilding and powerlifting, so I said: “I am going to be a personal trainer and own a gym someday.” The next statement he said completely rocked my world. He said, “You don’t want to be a personal trainer and live in a smelly gym the rest of your life, you should be a physical therapist!” I had no idea what a physical therapist was, but I started to do some research and volunteered in hospitals and PT clinics. Needless to say, I was hooked. It made me realize that was exactly what I wanted to do with my life.
